What is a TEC Weekend?
A: Teens
Encounter Christ (TEC) is a weekend of spiritual renewal, talks,
group discussion, individual reflection and prayer. The weekend
is hosted by a team of youth and adults, including a priest of the
diocese. Throughout the weekend and in sharing the sacraments, candidates
have the opportunity to grow in their relationship with the Lord
and learn more about their Catholic faith.
Q:
Who can go on a TEC Retreat?
A: Juniors
and Seniors in High School and college students. In addition, adults
who work with youth are also welcome to participate as a candidate.
Q: How
long does the TEC Retreat last?
A: TEC
begins on Saturday morning and ends Monday evening. If requested,
an official letter can be provided to the high schools concerning
that absence on Monday. TEC weekends fill up fast, so pay attention
to the deadlines!
Q: Where
does the TEC Retreat take place?
A: TEC
is held at the Spiritual Life Center, 7100 E. 45th Street North,
in Wichita. TEC weekends in Southeast Kansas are held at locations
in St. Paul and Pittsburg.
Q: How
much does TEC cost and how do I get registered?
A: TEC
costs$70 and includes 7 meals, 2 nights lodging and all materials.
A $20 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is due with your application; the
remaining $50 is due when you arrive at the weekend.* Please mail
your deposit and completed paper application to the Office of Youth
and Young Adult Ministries. A confirmation letter and a list of
what to bring will be mailed to you prior to your weekend.
