"The promotion of the practice of stewardship is
important for the mission of the Church and for the
spiritual well-being of each indivdual Christian.
Everyone benefits from the sacrificial gift
one makes of his time, talent, and treasure."
His Eminence Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger (now Pope Benedict XVI )
to His Excellency The Most Reverend James Patrick Keleher, S.T.D. |

The concept of stewardship, embraces a spiritual relationship with God. It is not a program, but a spiritual consciousness or way-of-life, based in Scripture, which holds that all we are and all we have flows from God's varied grace. In turn, we serve as spiritual caretakers of our spiritual and worldly blessings, responding to the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy.
Development then is the management strategy, within this spiritual relationship, that allows Catholic parishes and institutions to attain their goals through a means of conversion, visioning, planning, public relations and charitable giving concepts including: The Diocesan Endowment, Other Endowments, the Priest Retirement and Education Fund, Estate Planning, a Charitable Gift Annuity, and other Giving Opportunities.
