Brother Leistikow celebrating jubileeCancer ministry training course June 14 at St. Anne’s WICHITA — A training course about ministry to cancer patients and their families will be presented at St. Anne’s Setter Hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 14. The free training will be presented by the Pastoral Care department of Cancer Treatment Centers of America. The course will include: · Why faith is so important to health: why it’s important to reach out to cancer patients and their families. · What cancer is and isn’t · Do’s and don’ts of hospital visitation Space is limited. To register, call the Parish Office at 522-2383. The registration deadline is May 14. A continental breakfast and lunch will be served. Annual Fr. Kapaun Day June 29 at Pilsen PILSEN - The 6th annual Father Kapaun Day will be held on Sunday, June 29, at St. John Nepomucene Church. The day begins with a Mass at 10 a.m. It will be followed at about 11 a.m. with the official opening of the Fr. Emil Kapaun cause for sainthood. A picnic lunch will be held at 11:30. First Communion photo deadline May 23 The Catholic Advance will publish the First Communion photos from this spring in June. The deadline for submission is May 23. Photos may be emailed to criggs@cdowk.org. They should be high-quality scans or high-quality digital photos. | |
